Philadelphia smokers who are ready to quit should call 1-800-QUIT-NOW for counseling and a free one-month supply of nicotine patches.
Smokers who use quit aids, like nicotine patches and counseling, are twice as likely to quit for good.
Last year, the giveaway had lasting success: we served over 5,000 smokers with free nicotine patches and counseling, and for many months after the giveaway, calls for free counseling were 2-3 times higher than usual. After 6 months, 33% of giveaway participants reported having quit successfully!
Current smokers, 18 years of age or older, who are not pregnant and who live in Philadelphia, are eligible to receive a free one-month supply of nicotine patches while supplies last.
